Dr. Zhang tong is the Professor and Deputy Dean of School of Architecture in Southeast University, Doctoral Supervisor, National First Grade Registered Architect. He is the member of Architectural Society of China (ASC) and China Green Building Council. He hold the post of vice chair of Architectural Programming Committee, ASC, Architectural Design Committee, JCEAS and Bamboo & Wooden Construction Committee, JCEAS.
Prof. Zhang works on Architectural theoretical research, design practice and correlative teaching. His research focuses on sustainable urban and architecture design, architectural regionalism under the trends of globalization with 7 published works and more than 40 papers on core periodicals. He is now charge of several research works supported by National Key Research & Development Program, National Natural Science Foundation of China, and UrbanNet Program of European Union as well.
Prof. Zhang has presided over the design work of more than 20 projects. He has been awarded national and provincial design prize for 15 times, including 2003 China Young Architect Award, 2006 ASC National Young Architect Award and 2016 Jiangsu Master Designer. His design works, research and teaching achievements has been selected to take part in several significant exhibitions including 2010 the 12th and 2016 the 15th International Architectural Exhibition of “La Biennale” of Venice, 2004 China International Architectural Exhibition, 2011 Union International des Architectes (UIA) Tokyo Congress “Chinese Architecture, Progressing Footprints” and 2014 UIA Durban Congress “Contemporary Chinese Architecture under the Proceeding of Globalization”.
